The small seaside community of Del Mar is located about 20 miles North of downtown San Diego. With saltwater lagoons on each end, this charming San Diego town is laid back and quaint. The 2.1 square miles of coastal area are filled with wonderful attractions and fun-filled activities. Del Mar is best known for the world-famous Del Mar Race Track, Del Mar Fair, and gorgeous beaches. The population is small. About 4000 residents call Del Mar home and downtown Del Mar is often referred to as “The Village”.

Residents and visitors of Del Mar enjoy being able to participate in many activities without having to use a car. Del Mar Village hosts 25 restaurants, many with patios that have breathtaking views of the sparkling Pacific.
 
The Village of Del Mar dates back to the 1880s but is now a gathering place for fantastic shopping and dining. Beaches in Del Mar are among some of the best in the nation. They are ideal for beachgoers, sunbathers, and surfers. Del Mar even offers a small dog beach for you and your pooch to run and play in the ocean. The main beach of Del Mar offers the only wheelchair-accessible sandy beach in San Diego County. Visit one of the many beaches of Del Mar and you are sure to see whales, dolphins, sea lions, and many many types of birds.
 
For outdoor enthusiasts, Del Mar offers miles of jogging, biking, and hiking and one can enjoy the world-famous Torrey Pines Reserve. If golfing is your hobby, you’ve come to the right place. Del Mar is home to the Del Mar Country Club and is in close proximity to many others including Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club, La Costa Resort, and Fairbanks Ranch Country Club.
