La Jolla Waterfront Homes

Obviously waterfront homes are a premium. There really are only a few hundred waterfront homes. There are many homes where you can walk to the beach, and there are many homes with views of the ocean; but waterfront is rare.

My estimate is that a waterfront home would be in the $10 million plus price range. Once in a while a small cottage type home or condo comes along in the $2 - 5 million range. 939 Coast is our only true high rise on the water and it has many units. Several other condo projects are on or across from the ocean but you must be lucky or patient to find oceanfront.

There is a magnificent $35 million home for sale that is waterfront (see La Jolla Homes section). Many – if not most – many waterfront properties are sold without ever coming on the market. This is an area where you really want an experienced agent. One advantage of being in this business for over 28 is that you get to know just about everyone in town.
