La Jolla Torrey Pines Elementary
Torrey Pines Elementary is located high upon a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean in the most northern area of La Jolla. It is in very close proximity to the University of California at San Diego (UCSD) which provides to this school some collaboration with one of the best science universities in the country. The program here is K-5 with about 390 students attending. Torrey Pines consistently ranks in the top 20% of schools statewide.
As with the other elementary schools in La Jolla, the school maintains a comprehensive education curriculum. A three-hour literacy block and one-hour math block compose the large part of the school day. Social studies, science, physical education, music, and art make up the remainder of the hours.
All in all Torrey Pines is a very good public school. We have a two other public elementary school in La Jolla in the Bird Rock and in central La Jolla – see Bird Rock Elementary and La Jolla Elementary.
